This ride is done every year. it started over 10 years ago as Annie's Ride. Not too many years ago, motorcycle riders
were frowned upon in this community. There were no establishments that opened its doors to us, and Law Enforcement would pull
us over if there were more that 3 riders. But there was one establishment that brought us in, welcomed us, and took care of
us. That was Annie Roos, with Annie Wilhite running things. She not only took us in, but was like a mother to us. From that
Local 28 was born. Tragically Annie was taken from us in a car accident, and ever since then we have taken one day in August
to ride by here grave stone and pay tribute. As the Local grew though, and the old members were leaving and new ones coming
in, not many knew about Annie. Also during the years, we have lost many members, so the event has changed from Annie's Ride
to the Local 28 Memorial Ride, but one of the most important graves that we still visit it Annie Wilhite, the original mother
of Local 28.
